I love the Lord and I am so happy that He loves me.
he does not look at me the way I look at me. I should try to be more like Him and not look at me as a failure.

We're all failures, Joy, and if we look at ourselves, that's all we see, no matter who we are. We were conceived in sin (Psalm 51:5). We have all fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). On our own, in our flesh, we have zero hope.
ReplyDeleteI know I've said that here before, but it's something the trappings of the world wants us to forget. The Lord separates our sin from us as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). If He forgives us, what right have we to *not* forgive ourselves (***and others***)?!
If we lose all the weight we need to lose and be the best people we can be, we'll still be failures. We can't look at ourselves. We have to look at, and to, Christ.
Listen to the words of Paul in Romans 7:24: "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? "
And the next verse: "I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."
